In order to utilize children’s natural curiosity to their advantage, our play and inquiry-based curriculum has its roots in Discovery Driven Learning, which focuses on providing kids with a learning experience that is guided by their own desire to learn about the world around them. Through individual forms of personal expression, exploration, and choices, children can discover their ability to guide their own educational experience. Discovery driven learning is essentially inquiry based, and with the added element of play, the habit of learning becomes ingrained. This learning framework allows kids to take a hands-on approach to exploring and examining their environment as well as the wider world, thereby fostering self-awareness and their awareness of others.

It is well known that excessive screen time and a sedentary lifestyle have very negative effects on people’s health. This problem is even more serious in children whose brains and bodies are still developing. This is why KidKademy focuses on outdoor education to apply its play and inquiry based philosophy. Outdoor learning allows kids to gain a connection to nature which will enable them to function better as adults.
