Our Discovery Driven Learning learning framework allows kids to take a hands-on approach to exploring and examining their environment as well as the wider world, , thereby fostering self-awareness and their awareness of others.

How It Works

Kids’ natural curiosity can lead them down many paths which presents them with endless possibilities for learning. Discovery Driven Learning is designed to take advantage of that curiosity, and is constructed with different educational activities.

Relationship Building

Strong relationships are built on a foundation of respect and trust, and those with children are no exception. Our teachers know this and so they prioritize relationship-building with every child in order to provide a solid basis for learning. Strong relationships help children feel valued and safe, enabling them to build self-confidence.

Curriculum

Our play and inquiry based curriculum, designed around the concept of comprehensive discovery driven learning, allows a rich learning experience for all kids, helping them make progress in all their developmental domains, including physical, artistic, scientific, mathematical, and literacy-related. This in turn helps them move forward with developing their strengths related to the cognitive, social-emotional, and wellness domains.

Inspirational Learning Environments

Our learning environments are designed with traditional items that provide tactile and sensorial experiences, but also incorporate elements that encourage creativity, dramatic play, and language and literacy skills. In addition, each environment is created with natural materials in order to be as environmentally friendly and sustainable as possible. The warmth of natural learning areas also facilitates small group interactions and more focused, integral exploration.

Intentional Teaching

The educators at KidKademy follow a careful methodology to deliver our curriculum, and this approach has been fundamental to our success. This methodology includes making sure that our children feel supported at all times, which allows them the personal freedom to explore their surroundings while broadening their social skills and strengthening their emotional intelligence.

Planning and assessment

Our assessment, planning, and portfolio process based on observations of children’s interests and needs. Teachers thoughtfully develop flexible, engaging lesson plans designed for where children are right now, and document, assess, and communicate learning with families.

Communities

We strive to create vibrant and interactive classroom communities where every child and their family feel welcome. In this way, kids can experience meaningful learning and be active participants in their own education, reflecting their unique personalities, assets, and strengths, and identities. Our kids’ families are valuable partners in this process, as they help provide insights into their children’s personalities.

Professional Development

All of our educators undergo regular professional development (PD) training to ensure that they are up-to-date with the latest learning trends and techniques. To ensure the reliability of our play and inquiry based framework, they are particularly trained in the methodologies for discovery driven learning. This ensures that the kids at KidKademy have a strong foundation for creativity and exploration.
